The Carabineros de Chile are the Chilean national police force, created on 27 April 1927. Their mission is to maintain order and create public respect for the laws of the country, and they initially reported to the Ministry of National Defense, but they were redepartmentalized into the Ministry of the Interior and Public Security in 2011.
