The Capture of Teruel (early August 1811) was a siege of the Peninsular War that occurred when an Allied army of 453 troops under General William Carr Beresford captured the city of Teruel, Spain from its French garrison of 765 troops under Simon Berthier. The Allied army stormed the city and seized it with 102 losses, defeating the French garrison before liberating the city. Simon Soto and his guerrilla band came to the British Army's aid after the city's liberation.
