The capture of Raul Salazar occurred in 2019 when Major Anthony Perryman's American Ghost Recon special forces squad captured Santa Blanca Cartel lieutenant Raul Salazar.
Salazar had become Madre Coca's right-hand man after she had his father murdered for disapproving of her son's involvement with the Santa Blanca Cartel. Security for coca shipments along the treacherous Death Road were supervised by Salazar, and the Americans concluded that capturing him would be a huge blow to her organization. Major Perryman's Ghost Recon team ambushed Salazar's convoy along a dirt road in rural Tabacal, killing his La Unidad escorts before pulling Salazar from his truck and shoving him into a stolen car. The Americans spirited him away to the Kataris 26's Tabacal Alpha rally point, where, during an interrogation, he inadvertently admitted that Madre Coca employed snitches within the SNPC cocaleros union.
