The Capture of Pedro Gil occurred in 2019 when American special forces tracked down and captured Pedro "El Wey" Gil, who managed the Santa Blanca Cartel's pyrolusite mining operations in Villa Verde Province.

Major Anthony Perryman and his Ghost Recon team severely weakened the cartel's presence in Villa Verde by shutting down their pyrolusite mine and provoking a conflict between the cartel and La Unidad by staging a false flag assassination of Unidad lieutenant Joaquin Bento. Cartel boss Rodrigo Carlos Pérez Morales, seeking to restore the peace between the cartel and Unidad, ordered his lieutenant Pedro Gil's assassination, and Unidad forces were promptly dispatched to deal with him. CIA agent Karen Bowman ordered the Ghosts to apprehend Gil before he could be eliminated. As Unidad tracked Gil's movements from their outpost, the Ghosts raided the base and acquired Gil's location. The Americans proceeded to intercept Gil's pickup truck and ram it off the road, only for Unidad pursuers to catch up. In the ensuing shootout, the Americans killed over a dozen Bolivian soldiers before fleeing with Gil in a stolen Unidad vehicle. The Americans drove off cliffsides to evade Unidad gunships, ultimately making their way to a Kataris 26 safehouse, where Agent Bowman forced Gil to cooperate with the USA's criminal investigation against the cartel.
