Captain Simon 1080

Captain Simon (died 1080) was an English brigand who led the city of York in rebellion against King William the Conqueror in 1080. King William dispatched his son, the future William II of England to besiege York and crush the rebellion, leading to the siege of York. William defeated Simon and his rebels, and Simon was run through the waist with a sword by an English footsoldier.
