Cao Yi (3 May 941-) was the third son of Cao Yuande.
Biography[]
Cao Yi was born on 3 May 941, the third son of Cao Yuande and the younger brother of Cao Yijin and Cao Wanyi. On 13 May 945, he was captured when Dunhuang fell to the army of Liang Jing during the Mongolia-Liao War, and, on 1 December 948, Liang Jing decided to punish the Cao clan for its rebellion by cruelly having the 7-year-old Cao Yi castrated and turned into a eunuch. He then had Cao Yi's uncle Cao Yuanzhong and aunt Temulun executed; as Cao Wanyi was a lesbian, only Cao Yijin was able to continue the Cao line.
