Cao Bao (?-196) was a vassal of Tao Qian. When Cao Cao invaded Xu, he met Xiahou Dun's attack. After the death of Tao Qian, he joined Liu Bei. is daughter became Lu Bu's wife. When Liu Bei attacked Yuan Shu, he and Zhang Fei were put on guard duty. Zhang Fei, drunk, tried to force Cao Bao to drink but was refused. For this Zhang Fei whipped Cao Bao. On that night, he invited Lu Bu inside and tried to kill Zhang Fei, but was killed instead.
