The Canton of Sitten was a historic canton of southern Switzerland that was located on the border with southern France and northern Italy, now located in the Canton of Valais. The canton was the second-smallest old Swiss canton in terms of population, having a population of 18,200 people in 1836. Sitten was once a very industrial and conservative region, with most of its inhabitants voting right-wiing.
