Calvinism

Calvinism is a major Protestant Christian denomination that originated with John Calvin's Institutes of the Christian Religion, published in Switzerland in 1536. Calvinism, officially known as the Reformed Church, argues that only God can save people from eternal damnation, and that people live "predestined" lives (meaning that they could do nothing to change their future). In 2013, 80,000,000 people followed Calvinism across the world.
