Calvin Willard Gilfillan (20 February 1832-2 December 1901) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-PA 20) from 4 March 1869 to 3 March 1871, succeeding Solomon Newton Pettis and preceding Samuel Griffith.
Biography[]
Calvin Willard Gilfillan was born in East Brook, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania in 1832, and he served as the Mercer County superintendent of schools before serving in the State House in 1859, as a lawyer in Mercer, as Venango County prosecuting attorney in 1861 and from 1862 to 1865, in the US House of Representatives from 1869 to 1871, and as a delegate to the 1872 Republican National Convention. He died in 1901.
