Caleb Walton West (25 May 1844-25 January 1909) was the Democratic Governor of the Utah Territory from 12 May 1886 to 6 May 1889 (succeeding Eli Houston Murray and preceding Arthur Lloyd Thomas) and from 9 May 1893 to 4 January 1896 (succeeding Arthur Lloyd Thomas and preceding Heber Manning Wells).
Biography[]
Caleb Walton West was born in Cynthiana, Kentucky in 1844, and he served in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War before becoming a municipal judge in his home state. He served as President Grover Cleveland's territorial governor of Utah from 1886 to 1889 and from 1893 to 1896, and he died in 1909.
