The Caimanes buchon house raid occurred in 2019 when American special forces raided a hideout used by Santa Blanca Cartel drug trafficker Patricio "El Cerebro" Mendez Valle in Bolivia's swampy Caimanes department. As El Cerebro had anticipated his capture, he fled the country before the Americans could capture him, and the Americans instead captured his submarine designer and body double Lalo Suarez.

With his Florida-bound drug trafficking submarines destroyed, the schematics for his narco subs stolen, and his experimental armored boat captured by the CIA, Mendez Valle sensed that the Americans would come for him next, and he set a trap for Major Anthony Perryman's Ghost Recon team. He left his submarine designer Lalo Suarez at the buchon house, and, when the Americans followed his assistant Modestio Martin back to his base after tailing him from Puerto Chico, the Americans falsely identified Suarez as the target.

Perryman infiltrated the island hideout at night, swimming through the swamp and stealthily taking out one of the machine-gunners at the perimeter. As he closed in on El Cerebro's residence, however, he was detected by sicarios, resulting in an open shootout. Perryman was able to kidnap Suarez, mistaking him for "El Cerebro", before exfiltrating in a stolen cartel helicopter. The Americans took him back to the Caimanes Bravo rally point, where CIA agent Karen Bowman was awaiting his arrival. During his interrogation, however, Suarez's true identity had become known, as his waxing philosophical and his revelation that "El Cerebro" had slipped through the Americans' fingers caused them to realize that they had failed to capture their intended target. However, El Cerebro's drug trafficking operation had still been destroyed, and Florida's cocaine traffic had been reduced by a third.
