Byron Truax was an American soldier who served in the Union Army's 82nd New York Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War. A resident of Munsons Corners, Cortland County, he and his friends, including Thomas Jefferson Beech, enlisted in the army in 1862 and fought at the Battle of Antietam.
