Buto

Buto, also known as Per-Wadjet, was an Ancient Egyptian city located 59 miles east of Alexandria in the Nile Delta of Egypt. Per-Wadjet was a sacred site dedicated to the goddess Wadjet, and it was an important cultural site during prehistory, until 3100 BC. The Ancient Greeks called the city Buto, and it served as the principal village of the Nile Delta under Ptolemaic rule.
