The Burgundian party was a party of French politics that existed from 1407 to 1435 in the aftermath of the assassination of Louis I of Orleans. The party was named for John the Fearless, the Duke of Burgundy and the cousin of King Charles VI of France, and the family ruled Burgundy, Flanders, and the County of Artois. It fought the rival Armagnac party of the Duke of Orleans' supporters from 1407 to 1435, and the assassination of John the Fearless led to the Duchy of Burgundy supporting England against France during the Hundred Years' War from 1419 to 1435. In 1435, the Burgundian party came to terms with the Armagnac faction, ending the civil war in France.
