Burchard Chaplin (834-873) was a Mercian soldier who served as a lieutenant under Ealdorman Wigmund of Cambridge during the late 9th century AD. In 873, he took his lord's stead in defending the Cambridge longhouse during Jarlskona Soma's assault on the city, but he was slain in battle with Eivor.
