
Bulcha Demeksa (9 July 1930-6 January 2025) was the founder of the Oromo Federalist Democratic Movement (OFDM). He served as Vice-Minister of Finance in 1967 and left Ethiopia during the Ethiopian Revolution of 1974, working for the United Nations and founding the Awash International Bank in 1994. He founded the OFDM in 2005 as an alternative to the armed Oromo Liberation Front, and he served in the House of Peoples' Representatives from 2005 to 2010. He retired from his party in 2010 and died in 2025.
