Bubba Murtrie (1865-) was an American cowboy who lived in Valentine, Nebraska during the late 19th century.
Biography[]
Bubba Murtrie was born in Valentine, Nebraska in 1865. He fell in love with a woman named Jillian, and, while he was sweet to her, she was turned off by his mean streak and instead fell in love with his brother. In 1899, she wrote him a letter revealing her feelings, and she begged him not to do anything crazy such as harming his brother, and invited him to remain friends with her (warning him to let them leave in peace if he did not want that). Shortly after receiving the letter, Murtrie attempted to take out his anger on Arthur Morgan as he passed through town, but Morgan beat him down and left him unconscious in the mud.
