Bu Chan

Bu Chan (222-272) was the Controller of Xiling and General Who Manifests Might under Eastern Wu. Bu Chan later surrendered his city to Jin in 272 AD, and Emperor Sun Hao dispatched Lu Kang to crush his rebellion.

Biography[]

The son of Sun Quan's great general Bu Zhi, Bu Chan was given the title of General Who Manifests Might by Emperor Sun Hao of Eastern Wu and was made the governor of Xiling. In 272 AD, he was summoned to Jianye to become the commander of the Imperial Guard, the first of his family to leave Xiling in generations. Bu Chan feared that this meant that he had not performed well, and to avoid being slandered against by Sun Hao, he surrendered Xiling to Jin. Yang Hu of Jin was sent to reinforce Bu Chan, who was given the title of Governor of Jiao Province, but Sun Hao sent Lu Kang to recapture Xiling. Yang Hu and his army withdrew, and Bu Chan was slain.
