Brusi Sigurdsson

Brusi Sigurdsson (986-1030) was Jarl of Orkneyar from 1025 to 1030, succeeding Einar Sigurdsson and preceding Thorfinn the Mighty.

Biography[]

Brusi Sigurdsson was born on Orkney in 986, a son of Sigurd the Stout and the brother of Sumarlidi Sigurdsson, Einar Sigurdsson, and Thorfinn the Mighty. He succeeded his brother Einar as Jarl of Orkneyar in 1025, having ruled jointly (and contentiously) with his brothers since their father's death at the Battle of Clontarf in 1014. He died in 1030.
