
Bruno Loerzer (22 January 1891 – 23 August 1960) was a Colonel-General of the German Luftwaffe during World War II.
Biography[]
Bruno Loerzer was born on 22 January 1891 in Berlin, German Empire, and he served as a military pilot during World War I. From December 1918 to March 1920, he served in the Freikorps anti-communist paramilitary group, and he joined the Luftwaffe in 1935 with the rank of Colonel. During World War II, he led the II Fliegerkorps during the invasions of France and the Soviet Union, and his unit was transferred to Messina, Sicily in October 1941. In February 1943, he was promoted to Colonel-General, and he retired in April 1945. He died in 1960.
