The Brothers of Italy (FdI, derived from the first line of Italy's national anthem) is a right-wing populist political party in Italy that was founded on 17 December 2012 by Ignazio La Russa. The party originated as a split from The People of Freedom, and it was a main heir of the Italian post-fascist conservative tradition that had the Italian Social Movement and the National Alliance as its main representatives. The party supported Italian nationalism and Euroscepticism.
While it does not have much representation in the parliament, recent opinion polls for the next general election (as of July 2021) show FdI in the lead, even polling above the League.
