Bronco Henry (1854-1904) was an American cowboy who lived in Montana during the late 19th century. He taught Phil and George Burbank how to ride, and he became both a mentor and lover to Phil, having saved him from the cold during a mountain hunting trip by sharing his naked body warmth with him overnight. The two had a covert homosexual relationship until Henry's death in 1904, and Phil kept Henry's saddle and effects as reminders of their relationship.
