Brom Van Brunt (1774-1799) was a Dutch-American farmer and resident of Sleepy Hollow.
Biography[]
Brom Van Brunt was born in 1774 in Sleepy Hollow, New York. In 1799, he was Katrina Van Tassel's fiance. When Ichabod Crane first came into Sleepy Hollow, he ran into Katrina Van Tassell, instantly earning Brom's ire. To intimidate Ichabod, he dressed up as the Hessian Horse Man. About a week later, the serial killer killed the entire Killian family. When Brom heard the screaming of young Thomas he rode off on his horse. When the "horseman" rode off on his horse Brom shot him with his musket. Brom was supposedly killed too but he was not beheaded so his death was a mystery.
