'Briggs L. Farner (1851-1898) was an American sheriff's deputy who served the town of Tumbleweed in the Arizona Territory during the Wild West era. In 1898, he was killed in a shootout with the outlaw Arizona Kid at the Tumbleweed saloon after a fight between Arizona and two Black patrons devolved into a gunfight.
