Brian C. Sanchez was a US Navy commander and the commanding officer of the destroyer USS Gravely during the Red Sea crisis. Born in Hollywood, Florida, he graduated from the Naval Academy in 2006 and served in the Mediterranean before becoming flag aide to the Commander of the US Fleet Forces Command, as Officer-in-Charge of Basic Division Officer Course in Norfolk, and as commander of the Gravely during its deployment to the Gulf of Aden amid the Israel-Hamas War.
