Brendan Carr

Brendan Carr was a member of the Federal Communications Commission (R) from 11 August 2017, succeeding Tom Wheeler.

Biography[]

Brendan Carr was educated at Georgetown University and the Columbus School of Law, and he worked as a law clerk for the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Carr later worked in private practice at Wiley Rein, and he became a legal adviser to FCC chairman Ajit V. Pai. In June 2017, President Donald Trump nominated Carr to the FCC, and he was confirmed in August 2017. Carr was one of the three of the five FCC members to successfully vote to repeal net neutrality on 14 December 2017.
