Brazilian Militia is the colloquial term for the many Brazilian criminal organizations that were funded by gun runner Alejandro Rojas in the early and mid 2010s. These gangs plagued many cities throughout Brazil, causing severe police and military losses in operations against them.
On 13 August 2016, Task Force 141 deployed to Rio de Janeiro to capture and interrogate Alejandro Rojas, resulting in hundreds of gang members fighting against 141 to protect their mutual supplier. They were unsuccessful, however, with Rojas' death and the escape of the remaining operatives by helicopter. The Militia declined rapidly after Rojas' death and was eventually destroyed after World War III during a massive Brazilian Army operation.
