Brave Buffalo was a Sioux war leader from Hunkpapa during the 18th century.
Biography[]
Brave Buffalo was born c. 1713 in Hunkpapa on the Great Plains to the Hunkpapa Sioux tribe of Native Americans, and he was well-known for his ferocity in fighting against Spain and rival native tribes, including the Crow and Comanche. Brave Buffalo served as the war leader of the tribe in his later years during the 1770s and 1780s, serving on the ruling council of the tribe.
