The Boyar Party was a reactionary political party in Romania that existed from 1859 to 1909. The party supported the privileges of the boyar aristocracy, and it was strongly opposed to any political reforms that might weaken the power of the monarchy. The party supported a protectionist economy, state-run capitalism, state Christianity, opposition to immigration and minority rights, and a foreign policy was a special focus on peace. The party's near-pacifist views were a major departure from most other reactionary parties, as the party lacked the militarist nationalism present in many other parties of the sort. In 1909, the party merged into the Democratic Nationalist Party of Romania.
