Botan Turkmeni was a Turkmen commander of the Manbij Military Council during the Syrian Civil War. He called upon Turkmen people to join the battle for Manbij, and he protested against Turkey supplying anti-Turkmen groups such as Ahrar ash-Sham, the Sham Legion, al-Nusra Front, and Islamic State with truckloads of weapons.
