Bolivar Trask (11 June 1929-22 September 2005) was an American military scientist who owned Trask Industries. In 1973 he attempted to gain authorization from President Richard Nixon to build an army of "Sentinels", robotic super-soldiers that could adapt to any threat. However, when they malfunctioned and attacked the president at a press conference, Trask was cut off and later arrested for selling military secrets.

Bolivar Trask was born in Morristown, New Jersey, and became a military scientist. Owning Trask Industries, he proposed building an army of "Sentinels", robots that could deal with any threat that presented itself. His plan was refused by Congress, but after an attack on the delegates at the Paris Peace Accords on 27 January 1973, he gained authorization to begin his program.
Trask's robots were well-accepted by the government until they attacked the President, Richard Nixon, in the presidential bunker under the White House. Nixon was saved when the machines were destroyed, and he shut Trask down. Trask was later arrested for attempting to sell military secrets from the Vietnam War.
In 2006, Trask took a new gambit when testing the "Venom" serum on a patient named Eddie Brock, the son of a famous scientist. The serum took over Brock, who became a strong criminal called "Venom" that had to constantly consume humans for food. Trask was eventually cornered by Venom on his helipad on the top floor of his office building and he was saved from being pushed off the building by the vigilante "The Spider-Man". Trask was arrested for the damage done, but was killed in jail while playing golf by Venom.
