The Bogd Khaanate was the government of Mongolia from 1911 to 1919, with Niislel Khuree (Ulaanbaatar) serving as its capital. In 1911, Mongolia proclaimed its independence from the Qing dynasty of China, declaring independence on 29 December 1911 during the Xinhai Revolution. From 1919 to 1921, the Republic of China occupied Mongolia, but the Chinese were driven out by the White Army and Mongolians in 1921. These forces were then driven out by the Bolshevik Red Army that same year, and the Mongolian People's Republic was proclaimed in 1924.
