Bobby McCray

Bobby McCray was a New York City parking attendant, the husband of Linda McCray, and the father of Antron McCray. Bobby McCray had a criminal record and served time in prison, but he claimed to have reformed, and he never told his employer at Easy Park that he had a criminal past. In 1989, his son was arrested as a suspect in the Central Park jogger case, and the older McCray told his son to confess to whatever the NYPD asked him, hoping that he could come home; he then yelled at his son and threw a chair when his son insisted on telling the truth. In 1990, during the trial, McCray abandoned the family, not showing up at any hearings until he was called as a witness. He mistakenly said that the jury could believe his sons' words, but this backfired when the prosecution applied this to Antron's coerced statements. Antron never reconciled with his father after returning from prison, and he was dismayed to hear that his mother returned to his father.
