Bob Jackson (1944-1985) was an American soldier in the US Army, serving under Major General Franklin Kirby and frequently working alongside Major Mike Harris. In 1985, he was assigned to guard retired Colonel John Matrix and his daughter Jenny at Mount Baldy, California.
As soon as Kirby left in his helicopter, Harris was quickly gunned down and Jackson was shot in his left arm by deposed dictator Alejandro Arius' hitman, Pablo Diaz, tasked to kidnap Jenny and force Matrix into working for Arius.
Jackson crawled to the house under the gunfire, where Matrix told him that he was downwind, and advised him to keep an eye out as the air current will tip them off. Jackson sarcastically asked if Matrix thought Jackson could smell them coming, where Matrix that he smelled them. Matrix went to get his rifle from the shed and Jenny went upstairs to hide.
Jackson was ambushed and garroted by Diaz soon after the two left, with Diaz dragging his corpse and placing it against the balcony door to intimidate Matrix. The tactic didn't work, and Matrix avenged Jackson and Harris by killing Diaz soon after.
