
Robert Douglas "Bob" Franks (21 September 1951 – 9 April 2010) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-NJ 7) from 3 January 1993 to 3 January 2001, succeeding Matthew J. Rinaldo and preceding Mike Ferguson.
Biography[]
Robert Douglas Franks was born in Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey in 1951, and he grew up in Glen Rock, Chicago, and Summit. He joined the Young Republicans in Summit and served as an aide, consultant, and campaign manager to several Republican candidates while also working as a newspaper publisher. He served in the State Assembly from 1980 to 1993 and in the US House of Representatives from 1993 to 2001, and he launched a failed US Senate bid in 2000. He died of cancer in New York City in 2010.
