Boaz Island is one of the six main islands of Bermuda, located between Ireland Island and Watford Island. The island was once used as a Royal Navy base, and the Clarence Barracks housed convict laborers until the 1860s. With the reduction of the Bermuda Garrison, the island was returned to the Royal Navy in the 1930s, and it was used as a naval aviation station during World War II. During the 1950s, the island's military lands were returned to the public.
