Bleecker Street NYC

Bleecker Street is an east-west street in the New York City borough of Manhattan and a Greenwich Village nightclub district. It was named for the old Dutch Bleecker family, who owned a farm in the area, and, in 1808, Anthony Lispenard Bleecker deeded a major portion of their lands to the city, leading to the construction of Bleecker Street. It was historically a bohemian community, and it became home to several musical and comedy venues during the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
