Blanche Taylor was an American woman who lived in Galeno, Arizona Territory during the 1880s. She was the wife of the cattle baron and former outlaw Hody Taylor, and only she knew about his criminal past, while the rest of the town believed him to be a hero for building them a school, church, and bank. On 22 July 1881, after her husband was shot dead by Sheriff Clay Hollister, she met her husband's killer at her late husband's ranch, and she initially treated him with contempt for his attempt to get her to justify his shooting of her husband due to her knowledge of her husband's character. Taylor initially decided to move to California, as she no longer had a reason to stay in Galeno, but she later decided to stop by Hollister's trial to hear his defense. When she discovered telegrams from several other cattle towns which revealed her husband's murderous past, Taylor revealed her husband's true nature to the others in the courtroom, leading to Hollister's acquittal. When Hollister bade farewell to her and told her that he hoped she would like California, she revealed that she intended to stay in Galeno.
