The Blaine County Savings Bank heist was occurred in 2013 when a robbery crew led by Michael De Santa and Trevor Philips robbed the Blaine County Savings Bank in Paleto Bay, Blaine County, California. The heist resulted in a massive shootout between the local sheriff's department and the robbers, and a total of $8 million was stolen from the bank.

Background[]

The savings bank of Blaine County, in Paleto Bay, contained cash that was extorted from meth dealers by the police, as well as the money made by the small businesses in town. Its alarm was a relic, but the bank had a huge stash of money. Michael De Santa and Trevor Philips, with the aid of mastermind Lester Crest, planned out a robbery on the orders of FBI agent Steve Haines. Lester had Michael shot the alarm and then drove to the nearby gas station to test what the police response would be. Four cars were dispatched in 60 seconds, plus more. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department set up checkpoints on the Senora Freeway and the Great Ocean Highway, so Trevor had superstitions. Eventually, Michael (in a car) raced Trevor (on a motorbike) to Trevor's office, where they all grouped up to plan for the heist. They chose Patrick McReary as the gunman on Trevor's recommendation. The plan was for them to get the money, flee the dirty cops, and get to a boat driven by Franklin Clinton.

Days later, Lester called Michael about the military weapons that they needed; he told them about the military convoys that were moving near Fort Zancudo. Near Great Chaparral, Michael hijacked a hardware truck and drove it to the meth lab in Sandy Shores. He finished off the guards, and Lester told him that he was ready for the heist.

Heist[]

The crew headed to Paleto Bay to do the heist, driving a white van to the pier to drop off Franklin. The rest parked the van at the bank entrance and the hostages were taken as Michael and Packie cut down the bar gate and stole $8 million. Soon, the police arrived, so Trevor took a Minigun stolen from the convoy and killed many of the dirty cops, soon joined by Michael and Packie. Soon, the army arrived, and destruction reigned. Franklin arrived with a bulldozer and rescued the team as they fought the military and tanks. Packie held off the people heading into the chicken factory where they ran into, seeking the railroad platform. They held off the army until they jumped into a boxcar of the train, escaping with the money. Agent Andreas Sanchez then gave them their cut: Michael, Trevor, and Franklin each got $445,000, Lester and Packie got $210,000, and the FBI got $6 million.
