Black Cloud (died 1892) was a Comanche war chief and dissident renegade leader who leads a massive warpath against the U.S. Cavalry and white settlers for three years when he sabotaged negotiations between the U.S. government and the Comanche nation for a peace treaty. In 1875, a group of renegade Comanche warriors led by the local sub-chief Black Cloud attacked a peaceful village and kidnap the beautiful daughter of a Spanish aristocrat named Margarita Alvarez near Durango, Mexico. They escape the Mexican Army by crossing into US territory, taking their captives with them. Later in, 1876; all of the Comanche tribes of the Southwest are at peace, except for the remnants of the notorious renegade warring band led by Black Cloud and his savage followers.
