Bishop of the Ruins

The Bishop of the Ruins was an Anglo-Saxon man who claimed to the Bishop of the Agnitum Tower ruins in Essex during the late 9th century AD. He claimed to have received his religious calling from God one day while he was urinating on the stones, and he came to dress as a Roman Catholic monk and claim to be a clergyman. He railed against the presence of Keith and his band of bagpipe players at the ruins in 875 AD, leading to an argument with the Viking warrior Eivor, who suggested that the Bishop allow Keith to entertain the locals, causing Keith to threaten Eivor. This resulted in a fistfight in which Eivor easily beat down the Bishop, forcing him to leave the ruins and let Keith play his music.
