Bishop Roupen of Noravank (1223-) was a bishop of the County of Syunik.
Biography[]
Roupen was born in 1223 to a Miaphysite Christian family of Armenians, and he became the bishop of Noravank under Count Atabeg of Syunik. Roupen defended the city of Noravank against the Ilkhanate in 1265 when Teguder Khan's army invaded, and on 15 August the city fell, with Roupen's defense failing due to superior Mongol forces.
