Bishop Eadweald of St. Ethelberts (born 833) was the bishop of St. Ethelberts.
Biography[]
Eadweald was a lowborn Christian Anglo-Saxon, and he became the Bishop of St. Ethelberts. Eadweald held power as a bishop, and in 867 he rose troops for Mercia when the Great Heathen Army invaded England. At the Battle of Macclesfield, he resisted the Vikings, but he was defeated.
