Robert "Billy" Barnes (1920 - 11 April 1951) was an American gangster, leading the South Millville Greasers street gang in New York City during the early 1950s. Barnes served in the US Army as a tank engineer during World War II, delving into a life of crime after being discharged. He eventually founded the South Millville Greasers in the late 1940s, running it out of the derelict New York Forge factory.
On 11 April 1951, Barnes and his greaser gang harassed Moretti associates Vito Scaletta and Joe Barbaro for selling cigarettes from a truck in their turf, demanding ten cartons as payment. When Barbaro refused, Barnes ordered the truckj to be torched, which resulted in Barbaro immediately shooting Barnes in the face.
