Bill Longin (died 1864) was a resident of Manhattan, New York City during the 1860s. In 1864, NYPD detective Kevin Corcoran interrogated him over the murder of a 12-year-old girl, Kate Reilly, only to discover that the blows inflicted on the girl by a walking stick meant that the killer would have been taller than Longin, who was then released. However, he ultimately confessed to the murder as Contessa Pompidou's "fall guy" for her wealthy client Winfred Haverford, and he was hanged for his "crime."
