Big Bear (born 1967) was an Australian brawler who fought in an underground tournament at a bar on Khaosan Road, Bangkok in 2004. He was extremely confident in his size and strength, successfully defeating a Muay Thai fighter. He believed Muay Thai to be a useless art, and that the Thai people were weaklings. However, while Thai villager Ting was searching for the gangster Don Sathianthai, who stole the head of Ong-Bak, Big Bear recognized Ting from the previous night and goaded him into a match by brutally beating a Thai spectator and his girlfriend.
Big Bear underestimated the smaller Ting, who was an extremely skilled Muay Boran fighter, and was ultimately defeated after two simultaneous elbow strikes to the head.
