Bian Zhang (died 186) was one of the leaders of the Liang Province military party. In Liang, he joined forces with the Qiang tribe, and, along with Han Sui and Ma Teng, instigated a huge rebellion against the Eastern Han. When Dong Zhuo moved to quell the uprising, they intercepted him and that gained an advantage in the battle. One night, the location of their forces was revealed by a shooting star, and though they immediately tried to pull back, they were caught by Dong Zhuo's pursuit and suffered a huge defeat. He died of illness in 186 AD, a year after the Liang Province rebellion was quelled.
