
Bian Xi (?-200) was a member of the Yellow Turbans and master with his Shooting Star. Bian Xi later served Cao Cao and defended Yishuhan. He laid an ambush at Zhenguo Temple to kill Guan Yu on his Solitary Journey. However, when Pu Jing, the guest of the temple, reported it to Guan Yu, Bian Xi was killed.
Biography[]
Bian Xi was a member of the Yellow Turbans since the start of the Yellow Turban Rebellion in 184 AD, and he was also a Jing Province bandit.
He was one of the men who supported Bian Xi in his uprising against Prefect Sun Jian of Changsha, and he also supported the Yellow Turban uprising in Yan Province in 192 AD. When he was defeated by Cao Cao in Yanzhou, he was recruited into his army as one of the Qingzhou Troops. Bian Xi fought against Lu Bu at the Battle of Dingtao and was posted to defend Yishuhan during Cao Cao's campaign against Yuan Shao at Liyang in the north.
In 200 AD, he set an ambush for Guan Yu while he attempted to rejoin his sworn brother Liu Bei, but a guest of the temple named Pu Jing reported the ambush to Guan Yu. Bian Xi was killed in the failed attack.
