
Beth Van Duyne (16 November 1970-) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-TX 24) from 3 January 2021, succeeding Kenny Marchant.
Biography[]
Beth Van Duyne was born in Ithaca, New York in 1970, and she was raised in Amsterdam and Cooperstown before moving to Irving, Texas in 1986. She served on the Irving City Council from 2004 to 2010, as Mayor of Irving from 2011 to 2017, and in the US House of Representatives from 2021. Van Duyne opposed Obamacare, opposed social distancing and mask-wearing during the COVID-19 pandemic, praised Donald Trump's response to the pandemic, and opposed ending cash bail.
